My Month of July

Hi everyone! It’s been a special month this month because I turned 50! We had an awesome birthday party for lunch with my favourite songs and food.
I’ve been helping out around the place this month.  We planted a special tree that we were given.  We gave it pride of place in the front garden.

In cooking we’ve made some really tasty food.  Pumpkin and Feta Salad, Rice Pudding, and Guacamole with crackers.  We even made the crackers.  The cooking sessions have been starting with a lovely walk through the vege and herb gardens.  We pick different herbs and plants and add them to our cooking.  I’ve getting to be a pro at mixing, chopping and adding ingredients.

In wood work I’ve been working towards making a tray.  I’ve been sanding the different pieces that we will use for the tray.  One day I helped fix the items in the Underwater Sensory Box.

I went to the Ten Pin Bowling Centre one day and played pool.   Another time we went to the Greerton LIbrary to check for volunteer work.  Another time I was super helpful yet again when we went to Waipuna Park and I helped pick up rubbish.  I’ve been going to Connect 20 still.  I relax and chat with my friends while I enjoy drinking a Coke Zero.

We have been helping out at Bridge St community op shop too.  One week it was raining though so we couldn’t go.  We did some reading instead.

In sports we had an obstacle course.  We had to work on doing different sports as fast as possible.  It was a lot of fun.

I relaxed with a foot spa and foot massage one day.  There was a bath bomb put in the water that smelled nice and I listened to my favourite Queen songs while I relaxed.

In music we had a foot stomping time when we listened to country music.  Everyone was singing along and we all kept getting up to dance. We had a wide variety of songs that we listened to.  Everything from old songs like The Gambler by Kenny Rogers to newer songs like A bar song by Shaboozey.
